Define the comparison.
Here, “Bollinger Bands” means the standard indicator on its own, without a trader’s extra filters, strategy rules, or outcome tracker. It does not describe every strategy that uses bands.
The standard TradingView implementation places bands around a moving average using a configurable standard-deviation multiple. Its familiar defaults use a 20-period simple moving average and two standard deviations.
MIZAN instead blends volatility models using recent tracking accuracy and anchors its forecast band width to the prior bar. The methodology describes the public architecture.
What is included.
| Question | Bollinger Bands alone | MIZAN |
|---|---|---|
| Where is the envelope? | Moving average with standard-deviation bands. | Adaptive equilibrium with forecast band width. |
| Should this setup qualify? | Requires additional interpretation or rules. | Evidence scoring plus regime and risk gates. |
| Where is the proposed risk? | Requires separate entry, stop, and target rules. | Entry, stop, target, and reward-to-risk on the chart. |
| What happened to the setups? | Requires a separate tracker or strategy. | On-chart ledger, with explicit resolution rules. |
| Is a profit guaranteed? | No. | No. |
When the simpler instrument fits.
If you want a familiar volatility envelope and already maintain your own rules, standard bands may cover that need. More machinery is not automatically a better fit.
MIZAN is for the trader who wants evidence, refusals, and proposed risk geometry presented in one engine. Institutional adds order-flow evidence with an explicit data-source ladder.
Inspect the parts that matter.
Review the score’s meaning, the confirmation boundary, and the ledger rules. Then watch an unedited session, including the periods when the engine refuses a setup.
This comparison does not establish a performance advantage. That requires a defined evaluation with consistent data, rules, and execution assumptions. The site’s tape and documentation give you material to inspect before a subscription decision.
